OUR STORY
Quality Product from Experts in the Field
Eric Peters has worked with shellfish for the past 35 years. From scallops in Massachusetts to clams in Florida, he has been around shellfish production since the 1980s. Over that time he has honed his skills in not only running the farm, but managing people as well. The result? A work environment full of passionate employees dedicated to producing the best oysters available for purchase.

In 1999, Eric moved to Midcoast Maine to manage an oyster farm. In 2004, he began to grow his own oysters and in 2006 Norumbega Oyster was founded. This wealth of experience in aquaculture specifically oysters, has helped Norumbega Oyster, Inc to continue to evolve in finding the best ways to produce both surface and bottom culture product. Additionally, Eric is very involved in the communities surrounding the river.

We urge anyone who enjoys shellfish to try the product that comes as a result of these decades of experience and commitment to quality- we promise you will not be disappointed.

Meet the crew
See the faces behind the oysters you love.
Eric peters
Co-owner
Eric is one of the more experienced oyster farmers on the river. He has enjoyed working in every facet of the industry from hatchery to grow-out and sales. Eric loves spending time on, near, or under the water. When he's not the go-to for all things Norumbega, he can be found skiing, fishing, camping, and spending time with family.

Chris Dickinson
You would certainly have a hard time finding someone as hardworking and as experienced at oyster farming on the river as Chris. Since 2004 he has been one of the driving factors behind our product being as high quality as it is. In his free time Chris enjoys spending time with his family.
Jon dickinson
If you are still looking for someone as hard-working as Chris, look no further than his brother Jon. He is able to consistently keep the crew in high spirits while also completing the work he sets out for himself. In his free time, Jon enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his kids and his wife.

Don feldelson
Don is instrumental in getting our oysters out to wholesalers. He came to Norumbega oyster with years and years of shellfish farming experience.
He is a wealth of information on anything from catching blue crabs to growing clams and much more. In his spare time he likes gardening and eating his wife’s amazing cooking.
Aiden Coleman
Since joining the team in early 2023, Aiden has tried to absorb as much information about oyster farming as he can. When he is not trying out new things on the farm or making videos for social media, Aiden enjoys traveling and visiting family from Massachusetts.

Toben Streevy
Toben joined the crew for the summer season in 2023 and we have been super appreciative of his sense of humor since. Toben is interested in learning all aspects of the job including shop-work. Outside of Norumbega Toben is always taking photographs or finding new music to listen to.
Kate Peters
Kate has worked for Norumbega periodically over the years. Having grown up on the river, she has developed a great appreciation for Marine Biology and being outdoors. When she is not working on the oyster farm, she can sometimes be found cooking, painting, or skiing.

Shaun cusumano
Shaun joined the Norumbega crew over the past year, and his hard work and dedication have been very appreciated. You can find Shaun spending time outdoors and enjoying the company of his wife and two boys when he is not at work.
Nolan Kirley
Upon moving to Maine from Wisconsin in 2023, Nolan found himself fascinated in the oyster farm industry. His previous work with boats has proven very useful to our crew, and you can find him fishing and exploring the East Coast outside of work.

KELLIE PETERS
Co-owner
As co-owner and co-founder, Kellie is involved in a lot of behind-the-scenes work at Norumbega. She oversees marketing; advertising; community-involvement; licensing, regulation, and registration compliance; and health & safety. Outside of her work for Norumbega, Kellie is an educational consultant, Real Estate Broker (in both ME & VT), children’s book author: and enjoys flower gardening and spending time with friends and family.
